What does the Bible say?

The Bible is at the centre of an Evangelical understanding of the Christian Faith. Many claim that it condemns same-sex relationships – but is this true?

Just a few of the many stories of faith which Christians, both gay and straight, offer as their experience of God and God's Church. We hope you will find God speaking to you through them.

The section on Transgender issues contains some basic information and an encouragement to consider the issues with a view to making transgender people feel welcome and valued in our churches and fellowships.

We are an open network of Evangelical Christians who believe the time has come to move towards the acceptance of faithful, loving same-sex partnerships at every level of church life, and the development of a positive Christian ethic for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

About us

Accepting Evangelicals welcomes people who believe that loving, faithful same-sex relationships built on mutual commitment and self-giving love are not condemned in the Bible; and people who are willing to accept the Christian integrity of those who affirm same-sex relationships, although they do not personally hold this view.

We offer both Open Membership to those who are happy to be publicly associated with Accepting Evangelicals; and Confidential Membership to those who are concerned that their public support would put them at risk of prejudice or discrimination. You can become a Member online.
